The British territory of Gibraltar is served by the posh and modern Gibraltar Airport, no less. It has a Spanish side though, covering the town of La Linea. La Linea is one of Spain’s port town sitting at the of Gibraltar borders. A lot of tourists to Gibraltar opt to stay over at La Linea than right the Gibraltar city center. La Linea is the slower, quieter, and the much cheaper option to the Gibraltar city center. If you’re in Gibraltar, you can be sure that you’ll pay so much for a hotel. If you’re over at La Linea, everything is simply more affordable. Apartments and restaurants are cheaper, including everything else in between.
When you get to the Gibraltar Airport, you can easily see it is quite easy to hail a taxi. For only 3 pounds, you’ll get to the city center quite easily. Same is true if you’re coming from the Spanish side of the airport at La Linea. Minibuses are available too, with a good number of them giving passengers a city tour for only 25 Euros each person. Walking from the airport to the Gibraltar city center is possible too. It is all but a 10-minute walk.
Travelers must be informed that the traffic at Gibraltar is very time consuming. Passengers traveling here can’t do total exploring without a car to help them out. It is not always okay to rely on buses and taxis as they could limit your options. And you are also going to be stuck in a traffic jam if you use this mode of transportation all the time.
Having a vehicle to drive around town would allow you to easily determine where to go, how to get there, and when. A hired car offers you the liberty to travel in style and class in Gibraltar. Explore when you want to explore. Do it during the dawn or at night time, it really doesn’t matter. Just make sure that you include in your escapades a visit to the Parroquia de la Immaculada Church. That’s the best tourist spot in the area. As for restaurant, you can always go for the Tapas Bar Patagonia and the Stadium Bar.
